De tijdsgebonden kenmerken en geschiedenis van bronhouders zijn van belang om organisaties te classificeren, rollen toe te kennen en onderlinge relaties te modelleren. Het duurzaam identificeren van bronhouders vereist ook het kunnen aanduiden van veranderingen binnen deze organisaties/gemeenschappen. Bovendien geven de tijdsgebonden kenmerken belangrijke inzichten in de herkomst van de collectie en data die de bronhouders beheren. De ontologie zou daarom idealiter ook de tijdsgebonden ontwikkeling van een organisatie moeten kunnen uitdrukken. Zo zou bijvoorbeeld de beschrijving van het Rijksmuseum kunnen worden aangevuld met metadata die uit de archieven van dit instituut zijn ontsloten. Op die manier wordt de herkomst van het erfgoed van de diverse musea die later tot het Rijksmuseum fuseerde op een consistente en transparante wijze in beeld gebracht. Het vergaren van deze data hoeft niet tijdens dit project te gebeuren, maar de ontologie moet wel in staat zijn de organisatieontwikkelingen aan te duiden. Daarnaast zou een koppeling met de Persons in Context (PiCo) gewenst zijn om op den duur ook de telkens veranderende rollen binnen de organisatie te registreren. focus_points_en: >- The assignment describes the need for a comprehensive overview of the current number of heritage custodians through persistent identifiers. Also relevant are the organizational developments of custodians. Especially smaller custodians can be temporarily inactive or suddenly cease to exist. Larger institutions have often been established through multiple reorganizations. The temporal characteristics and history of custodians are important for classifying organizations, assigning roles, and modeling interrelationships. Sustainably identifying custodians also requires being able to indicate changes within these organizations/communities. Moreover, temporal characteristics provide important insights into the provenance of the collections and data managed by custodians. Ideally, the ontology should therefore be able to express the temporal development of an organization. For example, the description of the Rijksmuseum could be supplemented with metadata extracted from the archives of this institution. In this way, the provenance of the heritage from the various museums that later merged into the Rijksmuseum is presented in a consistent and transparent manner. Gathering this data does not need to happen during this project, but the ontology must be able to indicate organizational developments.
