text: 'The staff are friendly and helpful, but they feel a bit outdated and bureaucratic (invoices still have to be sent by mail in 2017 instead of by email?). I''m downright negative about the repro department: weeks after my payment, I still haven''t received the requested documents, emails keep getting answered, and no one from the repro department or the management is available for phone calls. It''s a real shame, and not at all what I''m used to at other national archives.'

text: The equipment at the State Archives on Rue de Ruysbroeck is quite dated, and browsing is less user-friendly than in other annexes of the institution. Some of the microfilms are illegible, and several reading stations are broken. There is no Wi-Fi available in the rooms. Furthermore, the archives are only open one Saturday per month, which is not very practical for people who work full-time (the Royal Library is open every Saturday). I hope that new investments will allow the State Archives to improve the proportion of digitized documents in the future and to compete with the French or Dutch archives, which seem to me to be more innovative and accessible.
