The staff are extremely helpful, the decor (plants, cosy sofas) are conducive to nesting. Its a real space for people!!

text: 'Though there are some nice library workers in the library, for a long time I felt that this was the most costumer

unfriendly place in town.

||
I have had countless experiences with books that I reserved and just found sitting on the shelf but was not allowed
|
||
to check out because it was reserved by someone else first (then why is it sitting on the shelf?)
|
||
|
||
And books that fell apart as soon as we took them home and for which we then had to pay, and books/ dvds that are
|
||
impossible to find in the catalogus. Try and find a season 7 of a dvd series: the catalogue will serve you up all
|
||
possible versions of the Seven Sisters series, but your dvd is nowhere to be found.
|
||
|
||
One of the more frustrating experiences were 1) my 8 year old son bawling his eyes out because the book he had been
|
||
waiting for for months (and had on reserve) was just sitting on the shelf, but we were not allowed to check it out,
|
||
the lady at the desk was adamant and not sympathetic to my son’s tears at all.
|
||
|
||
2) during the COVID period you had to go to the desk to pick up reserved books, and i quickly hopped on over during
|
||
my lunch break . There were two workers there, one was arranging books and the other one was helping the other costumer
|
||
in front of me. The person arranging the books, did not come to help me , even though there was some situation with
|
||
the other costumer that took more then 10 minutes to resolve. When finally the costumer was finished, the worker who
|
||
had been helping him, didn’t even acknowledge me, but started moving books from a card to a shelf! I had been waiting
|
||
more than ten minutes already!!
|
||
|
||
The costumer unfriendliness was sickening!
|
||
|
||
I finally asked the worker is she could see me, and if so, could she please help me?
|
||
|
||
I didn’t go back to the library for a year afterwards.'
