text: 'This art museum mainly exhibits the works and achievements of calligrapher Murakami Mishima.
It is located close to the Shimanami Kaido Omishima Interchange and close to the Tatara Shimanami Park Roadside Station.
The museum exhibits Mishima''s works written in the harmony style, clerical script, seal script, regular script, and running script. His cursive script is particularly distinctive, and when I saw the photos of the work in progress on display, I realized, "Ah, with these techniques, the works would turn out like this."
Admission is usually 520 yen for adults, but we happened to be there on a free opening day, so we were able to enter for free.
If you''re visiting the Hirayama Ikuo Museum of Art on neighboring Ikuchijima, why not stop by here as well?'

text: 'This is a public memorial museum located just after exiting the Omishima IC on the Shimanami Kaido. It is a short drive, but if you are walking, it is a bit of an uphill climb.
In addition to the works of calligrapher Santo Murakami, there are exhibits of calligraphy tools and a replica of his studio. You can see many calligraphy works at once. Photography is allowed in some exhibition rooms.
There is also an observation deck where you can see the sea. Free parking and free lockers are available. Admission fee is 520 yen (discounts for seniors, groups, JAF, etc. are available).
There are many calligraphy works by Mr. Santo Murakami.'

text: 'This museum is located on a hill slightly uphill from Tatara Shimanami Park. Although it calls itself the Kamiura History and Folklore Museum, the main exhibits are the calligraphy works of local calligrapher Murakami Mishima.
There are exhibition rooms from the first to the third in the museum. I found Ryuko Ota''s travelogue of 88 places in Shikoku (with sketches) lined up in the first exhibition room so interesting that I ended up spending a lot of time there, but the true essence of this museum is the second exhibition room, which displays Murakami''s fan works, and the third exhibition room, where calligraphy works are lined up.
The third exhibition room is particularly impressive, with calligraphy hanging all over the walls of the large exhibition room. The letters in various fonts lined up neatly and neatly, and seemed to approach from three sides. Even though I don''t know anything about calligraphy, I was overwhelmed by their power.
What is most surprising is that most of the calligraphy displayed here was created after Mr. Murakami was 75 years old. Mr. Murakami''s spirit of creativity, which remained undiminished until his later years, seems to be clearly felt in each of his works.
It was a little far from the roadside station, and there seemed to be not many people in the audience, perhaps because calligraphy gives a rather plain impression.
But here, you can feel the charm of calligraphy without any difficult knowledge, and you can also enjoy the view of Tatara Ohashi Bridge and Shimanami Park from the walkway outside the exhibition room.
If you have a chance, we highly recommend you visit.'

text: 'I had a ticket for the Omishima Art Museum, so I thought I might as well stop by.
The building seemed to be a reminiscence of an old hospital, and there were no airplanes until the entrance, but the exhibits were so good that I was fascinated until the closing time.
The works of the calligrapher Murakami Mishima and the inkstones, ink, and brushes that he used in his study were lined up, and each one was wonderful, and I realized how fascinating ink and inkstones are. (Since then, I have become interested in ink and inkstones.)
I think photography was prohibited inside the museum.
(I don''t have any photos on hand, so I think that was probably the case.)
So I didn''t know what the exhibits were like, and even when I looked at the map, I didn''t think about it.
If you like stationery, want to see the historical items of the four treasures of the study, like calligraphy, or like artists, please stop by.
While the other art museums on Omishima are nice places to visit on a date, this is a place where you can immerse yourself in the world of calligraphy in silence on your own.
Fortunately? It doesn''t seem to be a very popular spot, and there are hardly any people around, making it the perfect environment to quietly appreciate the art.
You can easily forget the passage of time and that you''re on Omishima.
The photos show the exterior and the ocean view from around the parking lot.
It seems that some people want to see the view from this high ground, and there is a wonderful mobile coffee shop that caters to that need.
(Correction: It is a capsule car-like store called Shimanami Coffee, and appears to be a permanent establishment.)'

text: I stopped by because I was interested in the history museum, but the main focus was on Murakami Mishima, and I was overwhelmed by the number of exhibits. I actually didn't know anything about Murakami Mishima, so it was a great learning experience. When you look at the facility from the outside, the lights are off, so you might think it's closed, but don't worry, it's open. The interior is all sensor-activated lighting.
