text: Opened in 1934, this is Korea's first university museum, boasting an outstanding collection that's earned it the distinction of being one of the top three university museums. A few years ago, I visited Donggwoldo to see a special exhibition, and after a long time, I decided to visit again, eager to see some modern art. While the collection features many ancient artifacts, the modern and contemporary art is also a must-see. The Lee Kyu-ho retrospective, currently being held in the special exhibition hall, was a welcome opportunity. The modern art gallery is located on the third floor of the museum and currently houses the permanent exhibition, "Days of Luxurious Beauty." While the collection isn't extensive, the spacious and pleasant exhibition environment showcases some truly special pieces, making it a must-see.
