text: Friendly but loud staff. It's also a difficult library to find inspiration for books. The building is somewhat inaccessible from the outside, with a dark, empty entrance, and the oversized category stickers make it impossible to read any of the titles. So you have to pull each book off the shelf individually to find out what it's about. I find that a shame.

text: 'This collaboration between libraries in the Rivierenland region is a really good idea. As a member in Lier, I ended up here because they supposedly had a certain CD that wasn''t available in Lier or most other libraries. It turned out the CD was also missing in Duffel; for those interested: it was Spirits of Nature Vol. 5. The Duffel library is a very pleasant library with friendly staff and a sense of humor (when I asked if I could ask a question during my first visit, the playful answer was "No!"). They have an excellent collection of books, DVDs, and thankfully, CDs as well. Many large libraries—Muntpunt, Permeke—have made the very unfortunate decision to get rid of their CDs. Cultural barbarism you wouldn''t immediately expect from a cultural institution like a library, which is supposed to preserve valuable cultural artifacts for posterity, but oh well... Barbarism begins at home, to quote Morrissey. The Duffel library is keeping its CD collection...for now, anyway! Another pleasant surprise: I was also able to buy the new map of the Rivierenland hiking network there! I usually combine a visit to the library with a drink at Wilgenhof, which is nearby.'
