text: 'I was thrilled that the Folger Shakespeare Library remained open while the Library of Congress was closed due to the government shutdown. It''s a wonderful place for both serious research and brief visits. I especially enjoyed the exhibitions and the cafeteria. We also saw a fantastic production of Julius X: A Re-envisioning of The Tragedy of Julius Caesar in their theater-the acting was superb.'

text: The Folger Shakespeare Library in Washington, D.C., is the world's foremost research center for all things Shakespeare, boasting the largest collection of First Folios (82 copies!) and related historical materials. Beyond its scholarly riches, the Folger's beautifully renovated building offers a vibrant public experience, featuring compelling, interactive exhibitions drawn from its rare collections, an ornate theater for performances, and engaging programs that make the Bard accessible to everyone, from scholars to families.

text: 'Do not miss!
Started the visit in the cafe to knock out some work and was so pleasantly surprised by every single room in this place!
I am by no means a Shakespeare aficionado or enthusiast but this entire collection was so well curated and easy to navigate I didn’t want to leave. The walls are covered in recreations of illustrations, the lighting is dim but still light enough to read. And… It’s not just Shakespeare!
Seriously a vast collection. All the docents were pleasant and so knowledgeable. There is also a theatre with performances daily.
Would and will return! Can’t wait to tell everyone I know to visit!'

text: Excellent Shakespeare resources, family friendly. Very knowledgeable docents and staff. We enjoyed sleuthing to reveal hidden pictures, learning about the development of the printing press, examining the map of Shakespeare and delighting in the art both inside and on the outside of the building. Unfortunately, viewing the theater was not possible. They said they were preparing for a show and it could be viewed another time- this assumes we can make multiple visits. Hopefully they can come up with a solution in the future.

text: 'The Shakespeare Library may not be large, but its facilities are impressively modern and thoughtfully designed.

Today, I was lucky to visit as the library was open to the public, and I truly enjoyed the experience. The space is welcoming, functional, and reflects a deep respect for readers and researchers alike. I really hope to return someday with more time to dive deeper into study and exploration.'
