text: Today we went to the National Archives for the first time and the receptionist

treated us terribly. First, she asked us where we were going, what we wanted
|
||
to research or see, and if we weren't sure about the topic, we should come another
|
||
time. She caught me off guard with so many questions. I just wanted to see the
|
||
building. But then different people started coming in and she didn't ask anyone
|
||
else anything. I told her that since no one else was registering, only us. I
|
||
asked her if we should make a reservation before the visit and how to identify
|
||
myself to get in without any problems. Then I asked her why only we had to identify
|
||
them and give so much detail and nothing to the rest. Then she told me that
|
||
if I questioned her work, she (and I'm referring to the 7 people who came in
|
||
while she was arguing with us) came every day and didn't need to register and
|
||
could come in. To be honest, I didn't believe anything. However, I felt terrible.
|
||
She treated us like criminals, and I realized that my friend had put on a horrible
|
||
hat because it was cold, and the point wasn't to help us, it was to discriminate
|
||
against us because of our appearance. It didn't warrant so much questioning
|
||
or for her to be so aggressive and rude. I suggest an evaluation of this lady.
|
||
She may have some illness associated with depression or bipolar disorder and
|
||
is not addressing it appropriately, and she is experiencing uncontrolled anger
|
||
that, as a visitor, she did not deserve to receive.
