text: Fui no horário em que deveria estar aberta, mas não estava. Perguntei no

||
ponto de informações turísticas do outro lado da rua e eles me disseram que
|
||
a biblioteca abre quando quer - às vezes às tardes, outras pelas manhãs - sem
|
||
respeitar os horários oficiais. Inclusive os dias de abertura no site estão
|
||
diferentes dos que aparecem no Google, o que apenas reforça a desorganização.
|
||
É uma lástima que uma instituição importante como esta seja gerida de maneira
|
||
tão amadora.

text: There's no wifi in this library, you can't use the bathroom under the pretext
|
||
of COVID, you can't make reproductions (and of course they send you an email
|
||
with a thousand useless instructions, but not this one), you have to wear gloves
|
||
(clearly useless, given that every library I've visited post-COVID hasn't required
|
||
them). The librarian is unbearable, and they have embarrassing opening hours
|
||
(10am-2pm), which they haven't even managed to update on the website. I came
|
||
from Barcelona specifically for this, and they literally kicked me out at 2am.
|
||
All this after contacting them for months asking for reproductions and only
|
||
receiving pre-defined messages in response. The church is shelling out money
|
||
to make this place decent, especially considering the prices to enter the cathedral.

General Archive, containing a wealth of documentation from across the centuries.

||
It also houses the legacy of Hernando Colón, the incunabula, and other rare

||
books, as well as manuscripts written by Christopher Columbus. It also houses
|
||
the parish archive of the Cathedral's Tabernacle. It is a building with a fabulous,
|
||
well-restored historical heritage, where visitors and researchers can visit.
