text: A lovely building with rotating exhibitions. Some more engaging and interesting

||
than others but overall worth visiting. Minimal interpretation in English so
|
||
be prepared to translate or just soak up the art. Not all the galleries were
|
||
open when I visited, it was unclear if these are undergoing a show change or
|
||
are just closed for now, but there is still plenty to see for a very reasonable
|
||
entrance price. The shop is lacklustre and feels neglected, there were no customers
|
||
browsing at my visit and I can see why, don’t plan to pick up your souvenirs
|
||
here!

text: 'The National Art Museum is a beautiful place with stunning architecture

and an impressive collection. It wasn’t busy at all — there was no lineup and
|
||
no reservation required, which made the visit really pleasant. The entrance
|
||
fee for non-Mexicans is 90 pesos, which is very reasonable.
|
||
|
||
|
||
The only downside was that some of the most famous paintings were not on display
|
||
during my visit. Still, it’s definitely worth seeing if you’re in Mexico City
|
||
and love art and architecture.'

The medieval section was very good and was extensive. The 19th and 20th centuries

section, however, was very ordinary, with few stand-out pieces. Not that I’m

an art connoisseur. I expected to see at least a few well-known painters’ works.

There was a third area consisting of black and white charcoal and ink pieces

||
which I felt was unremarkable.'
