kempersc 2761857b0d Add scripts for converting OWL/Turtle ontology to Mermaid and PlantUML diagrams
- Implemented `owl_to_mermaid.py` to convert OWL/Turtle files into Mermaid class diagrams.
- Implemented `owl_to_plantuml.py` to convert OWL/Turtle files into PlantUML class diagrams.
- Added two new PlantUML files for custodian multi-aspect diagrams.

Triplestore Decision COMPLETE

Completed: 2025-11-22
Decision: Use Oxigraph as RDF triplestore for SPARQL queries

Rationale:

  • Lightweight, modern Rust implementation
  • SPARQL 1.1 compliant
  • Multiple deployment modes (server, WASM, embedded)
  • Active development, cultural heritage sector adoption
  • Explicitly chosen in project planning (September 2025)

Alternatives Considered: Virtuoso (heavyweight), Blazegraph (discontinued), Fuseki (complex), GraphDB (proprietary)

Goal: Visual SPARQL query builder with live syntax preview

Planned Features:

  • Filter conditions UI (FILTER, REGEX, LANG)
  • Live SPARQL syntax preview (CodeMirror with highlighting)
  • Client-side query validation
  • Query templates library (10+ pre-built queries)

Goal: Execute SPARQL queries against loaded RDF data via Oxigraph

Key Design Decisions

  1. Context-based State: Using React Context for global state (GraphContext, UIStateContext, HistoryContext)
  2. localStorage for Persistence: User preferences saved locally, not in backend
  3. Debounced Saves: 500ms debounce prevents localStorage thrashing
  4. Schema Versioning: UI state has version field for future migrations
  5. Type-Safe APIs: All state updates are type-safe with TypeScript
  6. Comprehensive Testing: 105 tests covering core functionality
  7. Modular Architecture: Clean separation between lib, contexts, components, pages

Progress: Phase 3 is 71% complete (5 of 7 tasks done)
